Biography

David Alex is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from North West England, known for his darker, slow and calm tracks that blend elements of Pop, Trap, House and Alternative music. Since starting his professional journey in 2022, David has been dedicated to crafting his unique sound, which he produces independently using Logic Pro x. With two years of study in Creative Music and currently pursuing a Music Production Degree, he has honed his skills in both performance and production. 

David’s musical foundation began with learning the piano, where he explored classical pieces and a variety of pop songs. His true passion lies in the technology side of music, relishing the creative process from layering harmonies to mixing tracks to achieve a desired sound. For David, the freedom of mixing his music to his own liking is what truly fuels his artistic expression.

His sound inspiration comes from a broad list of artists and bands like: Artic Monkeys, Linkin Park, Paramore, Billie Eilish, Bishop Briggs and Christina Perri.

David has recorded himself in both analogue studios and his humble home studio. He loves the collaborative environment of analogue studios, where working in a small group allows creativity to flow and generates ideas that wouldn’t be possible alone. These settings challenge his sound design skills as he focuses on recording real instruments that produce high-quality sounds. He has also done off-site recordings, including miking up grand pianos for personal and group projects.

David explains that there are so many aspects to music, and through his studies and practical experience, he has had the opportunity to explore them all and discover what he truly loves to do. That lies heavily in Music Production.
